The Barnes-Blow Family

Our Heritage: The Barnes Blow Family is proudly African American, rooted in the strength, resilience, and cultural legacy of Black America.

Through oral history passed down by Mama Rhea and supported by genealogical and ancestry research, our family also carries Native American ancestry. We honor this part of our heritage with respect and humility, recognizing the generations who came before us and the stories that have shaped our identity.

Our family history reflects the complex and layered story of America itself, where African and Indigenous histories often intersect. We continue to learn, research, and preserve our full heritage with care and reverence.

Mission Statement: The Barnes Blow Family and the Barnes Blow Family Reunion Committee are committed to uniting our family in celebration of our ancestry and shared experiences. We gather to reflect on our journey, embrace our diverse stories, and foster a sense of belonging.

Our mission includes providing information to family and community through several programs. The programs include health & wellness, financial literacy, career options, genealogical research methods, and securing funding to establish the Barnes Blow Rural Academic Scholarship to empower and strengthen our family and the communities where we live.
