Celebrating Zayne McCloud

Throughout June, we’ll be highlighting the men and boys whose stories, milestones, and presence continue to leave a mark on our family and community.

Zayne McCloud

Today, we proudly honor Zayne McCloud, the great-great-grandson of Mary E. Carter (Story) and the great-great-great-grandson of Addie Story (Barnes). Zayne carries forward a meaningful family legacy with joy, confidence, and a bright spirit that shines wherever he goes.

At just six years old, Zayne has already reached an important milestone: graduating from kindergarten and preparing to move on to first grade. His hard work, positive attitude, and growing leadership were also recognized when he was named Student of the Month.

Zayne also loves to sing in the youth choir at Union Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he has shared his voice through a few special solos, including welcoming visitors on Youth Day. His love for music reflects his joyful personality and willingness to stand proudly before others.

When he is not singing or learning, Zayne enjoys watching wrestling and experiencing the excitement of seeing it live. He also loves to dance, draw, play games, go to the beach, go on family cruises, learn on the computer, cook, teach, read to his stuffed animals, and tell jokes.

Zayne enjoys staying active by playing soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and bowling, as well as riding his dirt bike, bringing energy and fun to everything he does.

Some of Zayne’s favorite meals include fried rice, chicken nuggets, and his mom’s homemade steak bites, especially when enjoyed with lemonade and water. His family loves spending time with him, and he brings laughter, happiness, and love to every moment they share.

Congratulations, Zayne McCloud, on your kindergarten graduation and all your wonderful accomplishments. May you continue to grow, learn, sing, dance, create, and shine as you step proudly into first grade.-Aunt Sandy A. Perry-Bey
