“All Roads Lead Home”
There are some people whose lives are measured not simply by the miles they traveled, but by the lives they touched along the journey. Joe Lewis Faulcon is one of those remarkable men.
Born on August 8, 1951, Joe was blessed with gifted hands, an inquisitive mind, and a servant’s heart. Throughout his life he became known as an accomplished professional diesel mechanic, respected over-the-road truck driver, entrepreneur, loving father, grandfather, faithful family member, and dependable friend.
Joe is the beloved son of Susie Falcon and Kenneth Lee Faulcon and the proud grandson of Charlie Blow, carrying forward the enduring values of faith, family, hard work, and integrity that have long characterized the Barnes Blow Family heritage.
Beyond his accomplishments, Joe’s greatest strength was his family. He grew up in a close-knit home and shared a special bond with his sister, Valerie Faulcon.
Their lives were joined by faith, shared experiences, and steady support for one another. Together, they celebrated life’s joys, faced challenges with courage, and carried forward the values passed down by their parents and grandparents. He cared for his aunt Gladys from 2016-2026.
Joe has remained proud of Valerie throughout his life and treasured the love they share.
Their relationship reflected one of the greatest blessings of the Barnes Blow Family legacy: family is not defined by blood alone, but strengthened by loyalty, compassion, sacrifice, and lifelong commitment.
For Joe, work was never simply a paycheck. It was a calling.
Whether rebuilding engines, repairing massive diesel trucks, or driving thousands of miles across America’s highways, he believed every task deserved excellence.
Through J.L. Truck Repair in Chesapeake, Virginia, and his work with J.R. Rawls, he earned a reputation for dependability and excellence.
He especially loves Freightliner trucks.
Although countless highways carried him through nearly every state and many of America’s great cities, there was one destination that always remained closest to his heart: home.
Like generations before him, Joe understood the timeless trucker’s saying, “All Roads Lead Home.”
For him, that home was always Courtland, Virginia, in Southampton County, and now Chesapeake, Virginia.
Joe also enjoyed rebuilding automobiles, racing, playing bass guitar, piano, and keyboard, listening to old-school soul music, eating fried chicken and a perfectly cooked steak, and watching The Road Runner Show, Sanford and Son, and Walker, Texas Ranger.
His favorite automobile was a gold Dodge Charger, and butterscotch was both his favorite color and the color of his favorite car.
Joe was blessed with four children: Carlos, ToVonnia, Derek, and his late daughter, Keturah, along with eleven grandchildren.
His greatest desire was always to leave life a little better for those he loved.
After the heartbreaking passing of his cousin Carrie Faltz, Joe lovingly served as the primary caregiver for his beloved aunt, Gladys G. Faltz, for nearly seven years.
He also faithfully watched over her son, Thomas Faltz.
Through daily acts of compassion, Joe showed love through service, loyalty, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment.
Joe was raised in a strong Christian home where faith became the foundation of his life.
His favorite testimony was, “God Is Good—He Always Provides.”
His favorite saying is “Thank you Lord.”
His example inspired other family members to become over-the-road truck drivers.
Today, during this Barnes Blow Family Father’s Day and Juneteenth Remembrance celebration, we honor Joe Lewis Faulcon for a life of faith, family, service, hard work, and love.
His tire tracks crossed America’s highways, but his footprints remain forever upon the hearts of his family.

I salute you my brother ! In all that you do especially caring for others with a willing heart.and working full-time 24/7. Thou you get tired you still press on never complaining. I love you my beloved brother. God sees and hears your prayers.. God will reward you for your labor of love. You will receive a prophet’s reward because Aunt Gladys Faltz was a true prophetess. Wait on the Lord and be of good cheer.
